ABOUT US
MAINELY MURDERS is an independent specialty mystery bookstore devoted exclusively to suspense, crime, and detective fiction.
Proprietors Paula Keeney and Ann Whetstone bring lifelong passions for mysteries to their shop in downtown Kennebunk, Maine. While both grew up as fans of the golden era of mysteries and writers like Josephine Tey, Margery Allingham, and Dorothy Sayers, their interests today are far more varied.
Ann lists among her favorites Sara Paretsky, Thomas Perry, Joyce Porter, Nancy Spain, and Richard Stark. Paula's current favorites include Cara Black, Donna Leon, Ellen Hart, and Sue Grafton.
Mainely Murders is housed in a converted barn/carriage house adjacent to the owners' 1790's federal-style home.
